<text>Introduction This report analyses medium-term prospects for the U.K. economy
up to 1977. The work on which it is based derives from ongoing research by members of the Economic Policy Group as part of a programme hitherto financed by the Social Science Research CounciL
Although each part of the work has benefited from the collaboration of many people* the chapters are attributed to particular authors who take ultimate responsibility for the contents; because of this the figures in different parts of the report are not always entirely consistent with one another. The statistical system presented in the Appendix is of course internally consistent and an overall assessment, together with some recommendations for policy, was published on January 22nd and 23rd in the London & Cambridge Economic Bulletin.
The production of this document was again achieved in only three or four days by Mrs. Lilian Silk and her staff.
