Text Any textual data included in the document International Contributions to LABOUR STUDIES Notes to contributors International Contributions to Labour Studies is a joint venture between the Cambridge Political Economy Society (UK) and the Labor Studies Center of the University of Notre Dame (USA). Its approach is multidisciplinary. Strong emphasis will be given to realism of analysis and a requirement of published articles is that their contents should be accessible to non-specialists. The Editors would like to receive economic, historical, industrial relations, legal, sociological and political papers in any field of the study oflabour. Empirical, policy and international comparative studies are especially welcome. Review articles of important books and debates will be a feature. Submitted manuscripts will not normally be returned to authors. UK spelling will be used. Manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate. Contributions should not normally exceed 7500 words in length. All copies must be typed in journal style on one side only of the paper (preferably A4 or 8f in x 11 in), double spaced (including footnotes and references), with a margin of at least 1-! in on the left-hand side. Footnotes should be avoided whenever possible. Essential footnotes should be indicated by superscript figures in the text and collected on a single page placed at the end of the manuscript. Tables and diagrams should be attached on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript: their position should be indicated in the text. Citations in the text should read thus: Brown, Smith and White (1975), or (Brown, Smith and White, 1975), or, for specific quotations, (Brown, 1975, pp. 63--64). The conventions White (1975A), White (1975B) should be used if more than one publication by the same author(s) in a particular year is cited. References should be listed in full, alphabetically at the end of the paper in the following style: Kochan, T., Katz, H. and McKersie, R. 1986. Productive systems, Cambridge Journal of Economics, vol. 7, no. 3/4 Authors are expected to correct proofs quickly and not to make revisions on proofs; revisions made on proofs may be charged for by the editors. No payments are made to authors. Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that, if it is accepted for publication, exclusive copyright in the paper shall be assigned to the Publisher. In consideration for the assignment of copyright, the Publisher will supply 20 offprints of each paper. Further offprints may be ordered at extra cost; the copyright assignment form and the offprint order form will be sent with the proofs.
